The GPSA Publishing and Exhibition Awards help graduate students share their research and projects with broader audiences. Publishing awards help defray the costs of published academic work. Exhibition awards help defray the costs of artistic exhibitions associated with a student's thesis.
The GPSA Travel Award supports graduate students with travel costs for academic and professional development activities like conferences, research trips, and workshops when other funding isn’t available.
Designed to highlight exceptional graduate students. This annual University of Idaho GPSA award was created to honor the outstanding achievements of three master’s and three doctoral students.
Watch the video below to learn how to apply for GPSA awards!
If you have any questions regarding the applications, due dates, or challenges submitting the application on time please feel free to reach out to the GPSA Secretary of Awards, Richie Thaxton, at gpsa-travel@uidaho.edu.
AWARDS DEADLINES
January 15th, March 15th, May 15th, July 15th, September 15th, and November 15th of each calendar year.
ELIGIBILITY
Students are eligible for one travel and one publishing award per fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th). Students are eligible for two application deadlines immediately preceding the dates of travel or publication, and the deadline immediately following the dates of travel or publication. For example, if the date of travel or publication occurs between May 16th and July 14th, then the student could submit an application for the March, May or July deadline.
Please note that GPSA accepts travel applications to cover registration costs for virtual conferences.
Students from departments in default with GPSA are not eligible to apply for GPSA awards. When a department is unrepresented for more than two meetings in one semester of for two meetings in a row a department is considered in default. If your department is in default, we encourage you to contact your GPSA representative. (See below for monthly updates on attendance.)
